NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A woman was wounded in a shooting Tuesday night in New Haven.

According to police, the department received a ShotSpotter activation around 8:11 p.m. in the 500 block of Ferry Street. When officers arrived in the area, they found a woman on Chatham Street suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious injuries. Police said she is in stable condition.

While canvassing the area, officers discovered seven fired cartridge casings in the parking lot on Chatham and Ferry streets.
