The Elm City is getting into the holiday spirit!
“Its really a beautiful tree”, Sally Brown said.
That’s the New Haven Christmas tree, of course!
“People are absolutely thrilled about the tree, they are very happy with it. it looks very healthy its full. its just a beautiful tree”, said Adam Wambolt with the City of New Haven.

Standing 60 feet tall and weighing in at 9,000 lbs, this Norway Spruce was gifted to New Haven by the Miller Family of Prospect.
“It’s from their family home”, Wambolt says.
City crews will work for the next 5 weeks preparing this tree for the holidays and many New Haven residents look forward to this time of year.
“This is the center of the city. Every year we look forward to lighting the tree. bringing spirit to the city. Its a beautiful day”, Brown said.

She’s not the only one!
“I love the Christmas tree. we don’t have that in New York City where I’m from. We have the big tree but I like this tree it has more of a homey folksy feel to it”, said Jeff Eldrege.
There’s a lot of excited people around the city of new haven now this tree stands very tall and will be lit on November 29 with around 30,000 lights.
