A driver sustained serious injuries after their car crashed down an embankment on I-691 in Meriden Tuesday.

According to Connecticut State Police, the driver was traveling east on I-691 just after 8:00am when the driver, who was the only occupant of the car, struck a guardrail before landing 60 feet into an embankment near exit 5.
