WOODBRIDGE, Conn. (WTNH) — The Woodbridge Fire Marshall’s office released their initial findings from the fire at the Jewish Community Center on December 5th. After an extensive investigation with the Department of Public Protection Fire and Explosive Investigation Unit, the Accelerant Detection K-9, and State Police, it has been determined that the fire was not started intentionally.

While the investigation is ongoing, firefighters believe that the fire originated in the sauna area in the men’s locker room. The fire hurt two firemen from the Woodbridge fire department, who were able to contain the blaze to the basement of the building .
