MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH ) – A motorcyclist died in a crash early Monday morning in Meriden, according to police.

Police said the crash happened around 5:50 a.m. at Colony Street and Camp Street. The motorcyclist was going north on Colony Street when police said he hit the driver’s side of a Nissan, making a left onto Colony Street off Camp Street.

The motorcyclist, identified by police as 32-year-old Maxwell Lafayette of Meriden, was taken to MidState Medical Center, where police said he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed.
