Juvenile transported to hospital after being struck by vehicle in East Haven

New Haven

Police in East Haven responded after an accident involving a juvenile pedestrian on Wednesday afternoon.

According to officials, the incident took place on Main Street between Pardee Place and Gerrish Avenue at around 4:00 p.m.

Witnesses told police the juvenile ran into traffic from behind two parked cars and was struck by the vehicle.

Authorities said the 13-year-old male victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. The operator was determined to be not at fault for the accident but was issued a misdemeanor for lack of Proof of Insurance.

The juvenile was not charged but was determined to at fault for the incident for running into the road.
