Landlord of burned down apartment building in New Haven arrested days before fire

We’ve learned the landlord of the New Haven apartment building that burned down last weekend was arrested days before the fire happened.

Police say 40-year-old John Farrar got into an argument with Michael Randall about his cousin being there.

Randall was one of the two men who died in that fire Sunday.

He told police that farrar grabbed him by the neck and pushed him against a sink.

Farrar was charged with assault.

He has not been charged in connection with the fire.
