Lockdowns lifted after New Haven police determine BB struck school wall

New Haven

New Haven police said a stray BB is what sent a stretch of schools and businesses into lockdown on Monday afternoon.

Officers said the pellet hit a wall at the Roberto Clemente School on Columbus Avenue.

It triggered a domino effect of lockdowns nearby.

A worker at the Cornell Scott Hill Health Center phoned it in to 911 as an active shooter.

Authorities said there were no injuries and that there was never a threat to the public.
