Man hit by car after fight in New Haven

New Haven

There was a near-deadly early morning dispute in the parking lot of a New Haven Mobil station on Whalley and Sherman avenues

Police said the dispute involved two men. One of them allegedly ran the other over with a car and fled the scene.

Surveillance footage across the street showed the moment police arrived around 3:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Left behind was a Cadillac with a busted window and tire.

News 8 was first on scene speaking to witnesses who didn’t want to go on camera, but told us three women and a small child were inside of this car.

Area businesses were impacted by the road closure. They said this sort of activity, unfortunately is all too common.

The incident is still under investigation.
