MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Two people were killed in a crash on I-95 in Milford on Thursday morning, according to police.
In the area of Exit 36 on I-95 Northbound, a car that was attempting to merge from the left lane into the center lane struck a car that was traveling in the center lane and lost control, just before 7 a.m.
The car then veered back into the left lane and hit the rear end of another car traveling in the left lane.
The impact of the crash caused the car to become airborne and strike the concrete pillars associated with the Plains Road Overpass, causing the occupants to be ejected from the car.
The occupants were pronounced deceased on the scene, according to the state police. The deceased were identified as two men from Bridgeport, 28-year-old Delroy Morris and 30-year-old Tashane Boothe.
The drivers in the other cars suffered no apparent injuries, according to authorities.
After the crash, I-95 Northbound was closed between the Exit 36 entrance and off-ramp for four hours while the state police C.A.R.S. unit investigated the crash.
