60-year-old woman struck, killed by wrong-way driver on Herbert Street in Milford

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Milford Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a wrong-way driver on Herbert Street Friday night.

At 7:22 p.m., officers responded to the area of 63 Herbert Street on the report of a pedestrian struck.

Officers determined a vehicle was traveling north on Herbert Street and crossed the centerline in the road.

Police report a 60-year-old woman from Milford was on the westbound side of the roadway and was struck by the vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road.

The pedestrian was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Police have not released her identity at this time.

No charges have been filed yet as the Traffic Division is still investigating, according to police.
