New Haven 911 center director resigns

New Haven

New Haven Public Safety Answering Point Director Michael Briscoe has resigned from his position, according to officials.

At this time, it is not known what prompted the resignation.

Briscoe served as a New Haven firefighter for more than 20 years before moving to the 911 center where he worked for four years.

Briscoe was previously successful in a lawsuit against the city alleging discrimination in promotions.

Officials say Deputy Director George Peet is serving as the acting director of the Public Safety Answering Point in the interim.
