NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police and fire crews responded to a fire Friday morning on Orange Street.
Crews responded to the fire just after 5 a.m. at the Housing Authority of New Haven on 358 Orange St.
The fire was contained to a sixth-floor apartment and was put out quickly since the fire department is right around the corner.
Deputy Chief Bruce Galaski said only some people on the sixth floor were moved, but no one else in the building was evacuated.
Galaski said one person used dry powders to try and control the fire and was minorly injured.
Most of the occupants have been allowed back inside.
