New Haven FD and The Red Cross to install free smoke detectors in local residences

The American Red Cross is looking for 30,000 volunteers.

The Red Cross is partnering with city of New Haven and the New Haven Fire Department to install 1,000 smoke detectors in homes around New Haven.

They need help installing 100,000 smoke detectors nationwide as a part of their “sound the alarm” home fire safety awareness safety campaign.

This will be happening between April 27 and May 12.
