Five displaced in active structure fire, New Haven fire crews on the scene

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — An active structure fire has been reported on Winchester Avenue in New Haven Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews are on the scene of shortly after it broke out at 2 p.m.

Police report that five people have been displaced due to the fire.

One person has been transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries are unknown.

The Red Cross is helping those affected find a place to stay Wednesday night.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. Investigators are currently trying to figure out how the fire started
