New Haven police investigate bar stabbing, victim in critical condition

New Haven police responded a stabbing incident early Sunday morning.

Police said they met the 49-year-old male stabbing victim at Yale-New Haven hospital around 2:00 a.m.

Police were told the victim was stabbed after an apparent fight on Blatchley Avenue.

The dispute started at Calypso Lounge and ended a few buildings down the road, nearby a New Haven police substation.

The male victim from New Haven suffered a life-threatening stab wound to the abdomen and is in critical condition, police said.
