NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating a stabbing Thursday night in New Haven.
Police said the New Haven Fire Department responded to a call of an unconscious woman around 7:11 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Howard Ave. They found a woman suffering from an overdose.
When officials were rendering aid to the woman, a man with multiple stab wounds approached fire personnel.
The man and woman were taken to a hospital, where police said the woman was later pronounced dead. Police said the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
Detectives said they spoke with witnesses who said a large fight occurred in the area of 1st Street and Howard Avenue before the overdose and stabbing were reported.
