New Haven police investigate third shooting on Saturday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) - New Haven Police are again investigating a shooting. This is the third shooting to have occurred in New Haven on Saturday. 

According to Captain Anthony Duff, Public Information Officer of the New Haven Police Department, officers responded to the reports of gunfire on several streets near Foxon Boulevard (Route 80) Saturday evening around 6:29 p.m. 

Once on scene, officers located a parked car near Foxon Boulevard that had been struck by gunfire. Shortly after, a 19-year-old woman suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder arrived at Yale New Haven Hospital

According to officials, investigators believe the woman might have been a passenger in a moving vehicle that was shot at during the time of the incident Saturday evening.

It is unknown at this time whether or not any of the three shootings in New Haven on Saturday are related.
