New Haven PD investigating double shooting on Grand Avenue

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven Police are investigating a shooting on Grand Avenue Wednesday night.

Police say they received a call regarding two people who were shot on Grand Ave. between Jefferson St. and Hamilton St. around 7:30 or 8 p.m.

When responding officers arrived on the scene, they located a 40-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, both from New Haven, who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

American Medical Response transported both victims to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The 40-year-old man was treated for life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition. The 43-year-old man is in stable condition.

The investigation appears to be focused on the Co-Op Liquor Store.

Evidence was collected from the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Police are also investigating a possible shooting on Norton Street. Police have not said whether these incidents are connected.
