New Haven Public Schools working to address chronic absenteeism

New Haven Public Schools will launch its community canvass on Tuesday to address chronic absenteeism. 

This is the latest effort in the district’s Attendance Matters campaign. The goal is to ensure strong attendance records for all students.

As of now, almost 20 percent of students miss more than 2 days of school per month. 

The community canvass will begin with a press conference at the Floyd Little Field House in New Haven at 11:30 a.m.
