Officials urge Derby residents to stay away from black bear

Derby residents have been asked to stay away from a black bear that has been spotted recently in the city.

According to officials, the bear was seen in the area of Derby Hilltop near Franklin Avenue, Coe Lane and the Derbyshire Condominiums.

Police said residents should use caution and stay away from the animal.

If you see the bear, do not attempt to approach it or feed it.
