PD: 2 shot, 1 with life-threatening injuries in Meriden

Two people sustained injuries after officers in Meriden responded to a report of shots being fired on Monday.

According to officials, a call came in around 4:45 p.m. reporting shots fired in the area of 190 Grove Street.

There, authorities said the suspects had fled the scene.

A description of a fleeing vehicle was given and later determined to be used by the victims.

That vehicle was later stopped on Kensington Avenue and medical aid was given to the victims before they were transported to a local hospital.

Police said one person sustained non-life threatening injuries while another person suffered life-threatening injuries.

A third person in the vehicle was detained for questioning and is cooperating with officers.

Police said information from witnesses led them to a residence on Washington Street. The individuals there are being questioned.

Authorities said the parties were known to each other.
