PD: Hamden man shot in stomach in New Haven

Police in New Haven are investigating after they say a man was shot in the stomach early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say 19-year-old Juwell Pagan of Hamden was shot in the stomach in the area of Winchester Avenue and Munson Street. They say he was alert and talking when he was being transported to the hospital.

Officials say Pagan is out of surgery and recovering.

Police say they are looking at surveillance video to try and find a suspect. 

At this time, the intersection of Munson Street and Winchester Avenue is closed. Munson Street down to Mansfield is closed as well.
