PD: Teen charged with assault for New Haven shooting

A New Haven teen has been charged with assault for allegedly shooting another teen in the Elm City.

According to officials, on May 9th around 8:30 p.m., units responded to a shooting in a parking lot on Foxon Boulevard at Quinnipiac Avenue.

They said they found a 14-year-old victim at a nearby residence with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to a local hospital and has since been discharged.

On Tuesday, an arrest warrant was signed for a 17-year-old boy.

The suspect was arraigned on Wednesday and is incarcerated in a state Department of Correction facility.
