Woman struck, killed by CTtransit bus in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman was struck and killed by a CTtransit bus Thursday night.

Police responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a bus on Chapel Street between Orange Street and Church Street around 6:43 p.m.

Officers on scene located the victim, a 40-year-old New Haven woman, who was later pronounced dead on the scene.

The bus remained on the scene and the New Haven Police Crash Team is investigating.
