31-year-old Hamden man killed in New Haven shooting

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are investigating a fatal shooting on Dixwell Avenue.

On Monday, officers responded to a call concerning gunfire in the area of Dixwell Avenue between Elizabeth Street and Cherry Ann Street at around 2:15 p.m.

Soon after the gunfire, a gunshot victim arrived by private vehicle at Yale New Haven Hospital. The 31-year-old Hamden man, now identified as Marquis Winfrey, was later pronounced dead.
