Man found dead in car pulled from water at Jackson Cove Town Park in Oxford

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was found dead after a car was pulled from the water at Jackson Cove Town Park in Oxford overnight Tuesday.

The Oxford fire department was called to the scene on a report of a submerged car at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police, state police, a dive team, and a coroner also reported to the scene.

Crews pulled the car out of the water and found the body of a deceased man in the vehicle, according to fire officials. The victim has not been identified at this time.

Fire officials say the vehicle was around 12-13 feet deep in water.

It is unclear how the vehicle ended up in the water.
