This prom is for the Special Olympics Unified Sports participants and their student partners.
“It’s a big day, but I would just like to dance well, and I have my girlfriend here,” explained promgoer Kenny Szygiel.
“You know, a lot of them let loose. I chaperone the regular prom and this prom, and, while kids have fun at both, they certainly tend to dance a lot more at this one,” English teacher Rick Raucci said.
The event provides Unified Sports Athletes the opportunity to attend a prom and celebrate their athletic accomplishments for the year.
