Rally to be held to support New Haven father’s plea for a stay of deportation

A community is coming together on Friday afternoon to support a New Haven father’s desperate plea for a stay of deportation.

Nelson Pinos has been living in sanctuary in a New Haven church for the past 281 days.

If he leaves, immigration officials threaten to take him away. 

On Friday, hundreds of neighbors in New Haven plan to call on ICE to grant Pinos a stay of removal. 

The rally is planned for 4:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon outside the First and Summerfield United Methodist Church on College Street in the city of New Haven.
