NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The American Red Cross is now helping a family forced out by a fire in New Haven.

Fire crews say the flames erupted last night in the basement of a home on Colby Court. A firefighter twisted his knee on scene and was taken to the hospital. Officials say they had trouble fighting the flames in difficult location.

The investigation continues on what sparked the flames.
