People planning to do a little boating on the Housatonic River this weekend may have to find a different spot to launch their boat.
A boat launch in Derby under the Commodore Hull Bridge on Route 8 has been shut down.
Connecticut DOT and DEEP inspected the launch this week and ordered it closed down because it is unsafe.
According to the mayor, the state says that launch was never intended for public access.
The state has put in concrete barriers and fencing to keep boats out.
