Sen. Blumenthal demands Amtrak to reinstate veteran discount

New Haven

U.S. Senator Blumenthal is calling for Amtrak to reinstate its veteran discount program on Friday.

The company used to give a 15 percent discount on tickets to veterans and their families for more than 17 years, but the program was discontinued in March.

Senator Blumenthal was at Union Station in New Haven to demand Amtrak reverse its decision and ensure that Americans who risk their lives for their country have access to the discounts they deserve.
