NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven Police responded to Winthrop Avenue and Sylvan Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday to investigate a motor vehicle accident with major injuries.
The accident involved a motorcycle and an Acura Sedan, according to police. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as a 28-year-old male from New Haven, did not survive his injuries and was declared deceased.
The car driver was identified by police as 42-year-old Jerry Boucicault of New Haven.
Boucicault was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. He is held on a $100,000 bond and arraigned on Monday in Superior Court in New Haven.
His bond was lowered to $5,000. He is due back in court on October 1.
The Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene as part of the investigation.
