Following the severe storm, several state parks are closed on Wednesday.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) agency has closed down seven state parks throughout the state for Wednesday. They say this is so their crews can assess storm damage.

Those parks include:

  • Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden
  • Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth
  • Kettletown State Park in Southbury
  • Southford Falls State Park in Oxford
  • Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield
  • Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding
  • Wharton Brook State Park in Wallingford

DEEP urges the public to stay out of these parks or any other area with tree damage. Additional parks may also be added to the list .
