Crews are now dismantling the spires at Waterbury’s historic Saint Anne’s Church.
Back in December chunks of marble and granite fell from the spires onto the sidewalk.
The church has been closed ever since, and protective scaffolding was put up to protect pedestrians.
The Hartford Archdiocese says it will cost $900,000 to dismantle the spires.
