United Way mobilizing hundreds of volunteers for New Haven Day of Caring

New Haven

Happening Saturday in New Haven, the United Way is mobilizing hundreds of volunteers for the first ever “New Haven Day of Caring”.

This is an all day event focused on community service projects to beautify 7 parks across the Elm City.

Jennifer Heath, the President and CEO of United Way of Greater New Haven joined News 8 live Saturday morning from East Rock Park.

“We’re really excited about today because it really gives us a chance to really beautify our parks, which we know is really good for our neighbors, and really good for all of the people who use the parks. At the end of the day, it’s actually way more than just raking and weeding and painting. It’s really about the power of what’s possible when we all come together to tackle something that we want to do to make our community better.”
