Wallingford wakes up to storm damage, no school

New Haven

A lot of communities will be waking up to quite a mess Wednesday morning after Tuesday evening’s storm

Cheshire was just one town that had trees and branches thrown around from the gusts of wind. Another was Wallingford.

Strong winds in Wallingford took trees and branches down and mangled some with power lines.

Wallingford schools have been canceled for Wednesday due to the storm damage and power outages throughout town. Wallingford has their own power company.

Road closures and wires down on the roads are also making it difficult for commuters to get around. Police have put up tape in some areas to keep people away from unsafe roads.

News 8’s Stephanie Simoni has a look at all the damage in Wallingford in the video above.
