Wires down led to power outages in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) - United Illuminating crews were busy dealing with some downed power lines in New Haven on Monday morning.

At one point during the early morning hours, about 1,800 customers were off the grid.

Most of those outages were in the Wooster Square and Fair Haven neighborhoods of the elm city.

UI tells News 8 that it is likely the stormy weather brought those wires down and caused the power outages in the area.

As of 11:30 a.m., power for most of their customers had been restored.
