23 inmates test positive for COVID-19 at York Correctional Institution in Niantic

New London

NIANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — The York Correctional Institution in Niantic is restricting movement due to a COVID outbreak.

23 inmates at the women’s prison have tested positive for coronavirus recently and are in medical isolation.

All visits have temporarily been suspended. Officials say all inmates still have daily opportunities to shower and use the phone.
