Millstone to conduct training event Wednesday

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Residents in Waterford and being told to not be alarmed at the sight of flares on Wednesday.

Millstone Environmental Lab personnel will be conducting a training event that includes practicing flare firing.

Officials say flares may be seen by residents near the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant.Related Content: Siren test conducted at Millstone nuclear plant

The drills are expected to be held at the southern end of Millstone Point between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
