PD: New London man charged with DUI after striking parked cars, police cruiser

New London

A New London man is facing charges after he allegedly struck a police cruiser while driving under the influence on Monday afternoon.

According to officials, around 4:30 p.m., units were notified of a vehicle that had hit several parked cars and continued to operate erratically near Lee Avenue and Ocean Avenue.

The vehicle was located and, while officers attempted to contact the driver, subsequently hit a police cruiser.

The operator, 41-year-old Lindon Archibald, was arrested and charged with DUI, three counts of evading responsibility and other related charges.

No injuries from the collisions were reported.
