Police: Convicted felon charged after possessing firearm, marijuana in Preston

A convicted felon is facing charges after allegedly possessing a firearm and marijuana in Preston.

According to officials, on Saturday around 9:00 p.m., units stopped a vehicle on Route 2A eastbound for speeding.

During the stop, police said they saw indicators of criminal activity and smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a 9mm handgun and marijuana.

The operator of the vehicle, 42-year-old Albert Harrison of the Bronx, N.Y., is a convicted felon.

He was apprehended and charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a pistol.

Harrison was later released on a $5,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 30th.
