Number of homeless residents in Connecticut continues to decrease

Connecticut officials say that the state’s homelessness response system is working.     

According to the “Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness,” there was a 10-percent decrease in the number of people who used emergency shelters from 2017 to 2018.

That is also a 40 percent drop from 2012. 

The agency says this indicates that the number of homeless residents is going down.
