Pedestrian struck and killed on Interstate 95 in Stratford identified


STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police confirmed that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a motor vehicle on Interstate 95 Southbound in Stratford on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Levern Hall, 61, of Bridgeport attempted to run across the southbound lane of I-95 near exit 32.

Hall was hit by an oncoming Chevy Cavalier driven by Meriam Elaine Jones, 59, of Stratford.

Hall was pronounced dead on the scene. Jones was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation.

I-95 Southbound at Exit 32 was closed for several hours due to the accident but has since been reopened. The shut down caused heavy delays.

The investigation is ongoing.
