Several Connecticut schools expected to participate in National School Walkout

At least nine Connecticut schools plan to participate in the National School Walkout event on Friday.

The event, being held on the anniversary of the mass shooting at Columbine High School, looks to bring awareness to gun violence and push for politicians to reform gun laws.

A number of schools across the nation plan to participate in walkouts beginning at 10:00 a.m. in their respective time zones.

Avon High School – Avon
Cheshire High School – Cheshire
East Catholic High School – Manchester
Farmington High School – Farmington
Greater Hartford Classical Magnet School – Hartford
Manchester High School – Manchester
Newington High School – Newington
Southern Connecticut State University – New Haven
Wethersfield High School – Wethersfield

A town rally is also planned in Madison on the town green.
