Teacher unions call for dispose active shooter drills, more teacher training

Connecticut

(WTNH) — A new call is being made to change or get rid of active shooter drills in your children’s schools.

The demands are being made by the country’s two top teacher unions. They say those drills can harm the mental health of students and educators. Both unions say training should be given to teachers on how to respond to emergencies instead.

One of the major companies behind those drills is defending them, calling them “effective.”
