Crews extinguish garage fire in Mansfield

Firefighters knocked down a garage fire in Mansfield early Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, the Mansfield Fire Department received a report of a structure fire at 1:30 a.m on Tuesday morning. When crews arrived, they say it was an active fire.

Officials say fire departments from the University of Connecticut, Coventry, Tolland, North Coventry, Ashford, Willimantic and Columbia were called in for mutual aid for the garage fire. 

Fire officials say the fire was under control in 30 minutes and no one was injured.

The department’s fire marshal is investigating.
