SOMERS, Conn. (WTNH) — State police are looking for the driver of a white van who hit a motorcycle and dragged him Sunday night in Somers.

The crash happened at Main Street (Route 190) and South Road (Route 83) around 9:40 p.m.

State police said the motorcyclist, a 24-year-old man from Springfield, Mass., was traveling east on Main Street, approaching the South Road intersection. The van driver was traveling west on Main Street, also approaching the intersection.

The driver of the van attempted to turn left on South Road and cut off the motorcyclist, causing the crash, state police said.

Authorities said the van dragged the motorcyclist for about 75 feet and left the scene without stopping. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for minor injuries, state police said.

State police released a photo of the van allegedly involved in the crash.
