Volunteers makeover yards of active-duty military families

Connecticut

Conn. (WTNH) — Four Connecticut-based lawn care companies, garden centers, and their employees joined forces with Project Evergreen to provide a lawncare makeover for military families.

Each family was also paired with a volunteer who will continue caring for their lawns through future deployments.

One lucky family is also getting snow removal services over the winter at no cost to them.

Liam Ohlmann, Exec. Dir. of CT Groundskeepers Assoc. told News 8, “It’s really important that even when the service members that are deployed are gone, that they come home and they feel a sense of pride in their home and their place of wellbeing. And especially with everything that’s going on right now they’re spending a lot of time [at their homes] so we want to make sure that experience is as comfortable and is as aesthetically pleasing as possible.”
