An 80-year-old man was killed in a three vehicle accident in Brooklyn on Wednesday evening.

Connecticut State Police say that at around 6:23 p.m., 26-year-old Victoria Vose, of Chaplin, was driving a Ford Escape west on Route 6 when she hit the rear of a Hyundai Sonata, driven by 78-year-old Patricia Bakken, of Hampton.

The Ford Escape then went into the eastbound lane and struck a Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 80-year-old Kenneth Hunter, of Brooklyn.

Hunter was pronounced dead on scene.

Bakken was taken to Backus Emergency Care and Vose was transported to Day Kimball Hospital, both for treatment of possible injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed it is urged to contact troopers at 860-779-4900.
